SICK's new W10 photoelectric proximity sensor features a touchscreen display and user interface that's intuitive to use, so parameters can be set quickly.  Situation-dependent teach-ins allow convenient sensor adaptation to individual applications. In addition to the standard Single Value Teach that detects objects at a defined distance, a Two Value Teach lets objects of different heights be detected without increasing the risk of detection errors. A manual mode extends the teach options and provides high flexibility.

MultiMode functions and configurations, like foreground and background suppression, are combined in a single sensor allowing success in a wide range of applications.

From speed mode for high-speed applications, to precision mode for precise positioning tasks, to standard mode for use in harsh conditions, the SICK W10 can be used for position and presence detection in packaging machines, detection of dark or reflective objects such as solar panels or displays, detection in harsh industrial environments, detection of objects in feeder bowls, plus a wide variety of applications in machine building, automotive, packaging and consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, pharmaceuticacls, electronics, and solar.
