Electrical ferrules are used to terminate the ends of electrical wires to prevent fraying and splaying of wire ends, provide mechanical support for the wires, and insulate the exposed wire strands.
While ferrules aren't required with all WAGO products, they greatly reduce the contact resistance between the wire and connector and cut down on the oxidation in the strands because of the lack of air space between them. Once you have selected your ferrule, make sure you have the right crimping tool.
