Honeywell’s UDC3500 universal digital loop controller introduces new features in the popular 1/4 DIN size while retaining the reliability, cost-effectiveness, simplicity, and popular interface of Honeywell's retired UDC3300 enhanced controller. The UDC3500 adds infrared communications for programming the controller, thermocouple health drift alarming, Modbus RTU over RS-485 or Ethernet communication options, Accutune III advanced tuning with fuzzy overshoot control, and more.
Available as a single loop or dual loop controller, the waterproof NEMA 4X/IP66 faceplate makes the UDC3500 suitable for use in wash-down applications. It's a direct drop-in upgrade to Honeywell's retired UDC330E models or as a functional replacement for UDC5000 models.
During normal operation, the UDC3500's upper display is dedicated to the process variable, and the lower display shows key operating parameters (output, setpoints, inputs, deviation, tuning parameter set, timer status, or minutes remaining in a setpoint ramp). Other indicators on the display show alarm, control mode, temperature unit indication, status of control relays, whether setpoint program is in run or hold mode.

- Accuracy ±0.1% full scale input, typical resolution 16 bits
- Up to three analog outputs, five digital outputs, four digital inputs
- Up to four electromechanical alarm relays to activate external equipment: latching or non-latching, PV rate of change, loop break, diagnostic alarms and timer output reset
- Accutune, math functions, heat break alarms, and thermocouple health diagnostics
- Basic and enhanced setpoint programming: Up to 4 programs, 20 segments each
- Optional RS485 Modbus RTU or Ethernet communications
- PID or On/Off, heat/cool, ratio, position proportional, actuator three-position step control, carbon potential/dewpoint/O2, or feed-forward control modes. Cascade control in dual loop model
